The writing editor now works on mobile
When you opened a document on your phone, the chapter panel and the AI panel squeezed the text itself into a very narrow column. Now those two panels slide in as drawers over the text (tap beside them to close), so you always write at full width. At the same time the wide margin on the paper is trimmed on mobile, giving the text noticeably more room.

Table of contents and anchors in notes and Pages
Long documents are now easy to navigate. At the top of a note or Page you'll automatically get a table of contents gathering all your headings - click an item to jump straight there. To mark a specific spot that isn't a heading, drop an anchor in the text (the ⚓ button, or type /anchor on a Page); the anchor shows up in the contents alongside the headings. On Pages you can now also copy a whole block from the drag handle, making it easier to move things around.

Better on mobile
We've started a bigger cleanup of Wriwo on mobile. Two things are fixed now: your cards are no longer clipped at the top (the title was partly hidden), and the top menu ran off the screen - the four main sections (Overview, Write, Research, Plan) now live in a bottom bar, so everything is within thumb's reach. More to come.

Drop files right into the text
Before, you could only attach files in the sidebar - now you can place a file exactly where it belongs in the text. In a note, click the paperclip in the toolbar (or drag a file in / paste a screenshot) and the file lands at your cursor. Images show inline; PDFs, documents and the rest become a tidy file card you can open. It works on Pages (Overview) too: type /file or drag the file in.

Synthesize a tag: loose research becomes structure
A new lens on the brain: in Research you can now pick a single tag and hit Synthesize - the brain reads every note with that tag and turns the pile into structure: a summary, the themes it splits into (with the notes under each), connections you might not have spotted yourself, and the open questions still to answer. Loose research becomes an overview, without you having to draw the lines.

Show, don't tell - AI finds 'telling' spots
New tool in the AI panel (per chapter): hit Find and the AI points out places where the text tells a feeling or mood directly ("she was nervous") instead of showing it - and suggests a concrete "showing" rewrite you can drop in with one click.

Overview & gaps: see your book from above
New AI in Write (in the AI panel): hit "Create overview" and it reads the whole book and gives you the main threads, the loose ends - and most useful of all: the research you tagged to the book but haven't used in the text yet. A gentle reminder of what's still missing.

Delete documents - with a trash bin
You can now delete a document in Write. It goes to the trash for 30 days where you can undo and restore it - only then is it gone for good. No nasty accidents.
Neu2026-07-06
Focus: write without distractions
A new Focus button at the top right next to +: it hides everything else so only your text remains. When you reach the bottom you can read on into the next section - both forward and back - so you can take in the whole document in one calm flow.

Retire finished documents
Finished with a document? You can now archive it so it disappears from your shelf without being deleted. Its tags come along, and you can always bring archived documents back.

Citations, @-links and tidier Research
You can now create citations in Chicago footnote style. In notes you link to other material with @ (instead of the old //). And links in Research are now always neatly sorted with the newest on top.

Ask AI across all your material
The Ask AI button is clearer and the box is bigger. Most importantly, it now searches ALL your material - notes, Pages and manuscripts - not just notes. Answers still come only from your own content, with citations you can click into. The empty box also suggests questions to get you going.

Upload box with OCR for scanned PDFs
Uploading files now has its own box: drag files in or pick many at once, add tags right away, and see how much space you're using on Wriwo. If you upload a scanned PDF with no text layer, you can run OCR to make it searchable too - you're told how many AI calls it costs, and with your own API key it's free.

Faster to move around the app
We removed some waiting so switching between Overview, Write, Research and Plan is faster.

Upload documents to Research - and search inside them
You can now upload files straight into Research: text files, code (e.g. Python), Word documents, PDFs and more - drag them in or pick many at once. Each file becomes its own card, and the text inside is read automatically so you can search the content (not just the filename) with Cmd+K. You can also select several cards and apply the same tag to all of them at once. (Video still belongs in video capture.)

Spreadsheet now calculates correctly with comma decimals
Formulas with European comma decimals now work. Before, =1*1800*0,9 gave the wrong result 9 - now it correctly gives 1620. You can use a comma as the decimal mark (0,9) and a semicolon between arguments (=SUM(A1;A5)), just like Excel in European locales. You can also now align cell contents left, center or right (buttons above the sheet) and the text on pages themselves (buttons in the toolbar).

Pages: spreadsheets, images and @-mentions
Pages in Overview are now a proper workspace: insert a spreadsheet with real Excel formulas (try =SUM(A1:A5)), add images directly (upload, paste or drag them in), and type @ to link to your notes, documents and other pages right in the text. You can also drag paragraphs around with the handle on the left, export a page as PDF or Word - and undo (Cmd+Z) now works reliably everywhere.

Search everything with one shortcut
Press Cmd+K (or click the magnifier top left) to search across your documents, pages and notes - including the content inside pages. Arrow down, Enter, and you're there.

Faster to move around
The Write button at the top now takes you straight back to your open document in one click (the arrow next to it still opens the menu). Open Write without a document and you'll see your shelf with all documents as cards. The plus button now does it all: capture notes, links, images and audio - or create a task, document or page from anywhere. And deleting a note takes you straight back to the overview with undo at hand.

Lock notes, documents and overviews
You can now keep sensitive content behind a 6-digit code - perfect if you share a computer. Put notes in the private Archive, or lock a whole document or overview. If you ever get locked out, your personal recovery code lets you back in.

Extra security under the hood
We've strengthened how your data is protected in several places, so your material is even better isolated from others and better guarded against misuse. Nothing for you to do - it just works.

Citations for essays and theses
Writing academically? Add sources via DOI, ISBN or a link, insert in-text citations and get a finished bibliography in APA, Chicago, Vancouver or Harvard. You can also import/export via BibTeX and let AI suggest sources or fact-check a claim.

A better overview of your research
Group, sort and filter your notes, links and videos - or switch to a table view. Save your favourite filters as 'Collections' so you can quickly get back to what you're working on.

Tools for YouTubers
Write video scripts with a built-in teleprompter (large scrolling text, mirror mode and adjustable speed), get a talk-time estimate, and let AI suggest titles, description, tags and chapter timestamps. A pipeline tracks your videos from idea to published.

Write together in a team
Invite co-authors, editors and readers to a book. You can see who's working where, suggest changes for approval, and chat right inside the document - without writing over each other.
